M16 & The Eagle Nebula Complex -The Entire Complex

M16 The Eagle Nebula Complex wide angle

Hi All,

Well the clouds finally cleared out about midnight at JBSPO last night, well not completely lot of thin crap floating around up there, seeing & transparency was very poor, especially near the horizons, then it finally clouded over solid around 2:00am.

Surprisingly the shot I took of the Eagle came out okay,
I also captured all the faint surrounding nebulosity which spans a good 3 degrees.

I place a little close-up crop in the original field for a closer examination of the Eagle's Pillars of Creation!

M16 Open Cluster(NGC6611)with The Eagle Nebula complex(IC4703), also known as the Star Queen Nebula in the constellation of Serpens.

It could be much better though, but not too bad after processing.

Rebel Xsi DSLR & 5" Vixen reflector, 50 minute exposure, (10) 5 minute subs, ISO 800,

EOS utility for capture,
Darked, Flatted, stacked in Nebulosity, final balance in Adobe.

Best Regards,
John Chumack
