Membership in the MVAS has many benefits and a few obligations. MVAS members have access to three observatories and an impressive battery of fine equipment. MVAS members have each other to teach, learn, and enjoy Amateur Astronomy. MVAS members receive a monthly newsletter, discounts on publications, membership in the Astronomical League, and opportunities to take club organized trips. MVAS members are asked to support the club by helping with some of the many public programs, maintaining and acquiring equipment, organize and hold an annual convention, and share skills.
Because of support from the membership and income from Apollo Rendezvous, membership dues are kept very low.
Anyone may join the MVAS. All meetings and programs are open the the general public with the exception of Apollo Rendezvous, which requires registration to attend.
So, if you are interested in our club, attend any meeting, stargaze, or public program and see for yourself. You can join the MVAS at any meeting or fill out a membership form and mail it to the specified address with your dues.
The MVAS is a 501 c3 Non-Profit charitable organization. Monetary, equipment, labor, and materials, donations are appreciated and may be tax deductible. Monetary donations can be sent to the MVAS Treasurer, and for other donations please contact one of the MVAS officers or attend any meeting.
