Foggy Seattle...

Seattle looked simply beautiful as we approached for landing. Mt. Ranier was clear, covered in snow, and wonderfully lit by the setting sun. Seattle itself was covered in thick, low fog that rolled right up to the base of the Space Needle. Trees sticking up through the fog cast long shadows by the sun that was just a couple of degrees above the horizon forming a scene right out of a sci-fi movie. After sunset the fog thickened to near zero visibility and I've heard that it has been this way for two weeks. Soooo, after my brief glimpse of Mt. Ranier on my way in, no sky for me. On the bright side, I scored a 1973 edition of Norton's Star Atlas at Half Price Books. Smile
