M16 – The Eagle Nebula in Serpens Cauda
Telescope: Meade SN6, Orion Atlas EQ-G
Camera: Canon Rebel T2i
Filter: Orion Imaging Sky Glow Filter
Guide scope: None
Exposure: 45x30sec, ISO 1600 saved as RAW
Darks: Internal
Flat: Synthetic
Software: Backyard EOS, Digital Photo Professional, Deep Sky Stacker, Photoshop
This was a bit of a quickie that I snuck in ahead of leaving town on business. I wanted to use a bit longer exposures (sky glow probably would have allowed 45 seconds) but I wanted to grab at least 40 images before M16 reached the meridian. I was very pleased with how well the T2i recorded this rich emission nebula.
