Full Moon – 8/2/2012 2h UT
Telescope: Atlas EQ-G, Meade SC8 @ f/10
Camera: Canon Rebel T2i, Orion Imaging Skyglow Filter
Exposure: 2x1/500sec, ISO 400, saved as RAW
Software: Panorama Maker, Photoshop, Registax 6
It’s been a long time since I tried a full disk image of the moon with a DSLR. The moon wouldn’t quite fit into the field of view of my SC8 at f/10, so this is a mosaic of two separate images. The result isn’t quite as sharp as a dedicated lunar and planetary imager, but not bad for a quickie of a beautiful full moon. It’s neat to see just a sliver of terminator slipping under the moon’s south pole.
