M83 Spiral Galaxy in Hydra -Revisited
Hi All,
After taking this shot with GRAS in Australia back in May of 2008, I was never really happy with my original M83 color balance...
After screwing around with it for several hours...today,
I redid my M83's color balance to reflect its natural color better.....it turned out okay, but could have used 2 hours exposure instead of 50 minutes.
Its not bad, but I think next time I'll go for 2-4 hours,
...you can see some background galaxies as well.
Best Regards,
John Chumack

Beautiful
Nicely done. Galaxy pictures are so neat.
I've been slowly going through some of my old images, cleaning them up and weeding out my library. Gotta do something through this cruddy weather. There's no end in sight in the weather forecast. Knowing our luck the best night we'll have is Thursday... the forecast low is -5F!
Stay warm!

If 50 years of amateur astronomy and space exploration has taught me anything it is that the Earth is a very special place. It would be nice to protect it like it’s the only Earth we’re ever going to have.
