Nice one. I love how the central bulge peeks out from under the dust lane. The dust lane in this galaxy is just remarkable. One thing that I'd be temperated to try on your luminance is to adjust the levels so that the background is about 18ish (on a scale of 0-256) and the galaxy's core is either just barely saturated or just short of saturation. (Photoshop's threshold function is a good way to determine the saturation level.) Then bring up the mid-tones using curves. This way you can max-out the brightness of the galaxy's core and bring up the detail in the arms without saturating them.
