Saturn last night about 11:30 pm. Quick process this morning, color balance is off a bit, but seeing was very good.
Very nice image Dave! Keth
Wonderful! You clearly caught the Encke division. I like the color contrast between the planet and the rings. I grabbed one set of images of Saturn last night and then took my camera off and enjoyed the view. Your scope and new camera seem to be working great!
If 50 years of amateur astronomy and space exploration has taught me anything it is that the Earth is a very special place. It would be nice to protect it like it’s the only Earth we’re ever going to have.
Thanks John! I've been out with Saturn 4 nights this week trying to find that elusive perfect seeing. Last night was probably as close as ever I've seen.
When you get a really good night you might try taking a series, one image every 15-30 minutes. If you string them together to make a movie you may find that you've also caught the spokes in Saturn's rings. This is a good way to spot subtle detail on the planet as well.
