NGC6888 – Ha + O-III Bicolor

L = H-alpha + O-III
R = H-alpha
G = O-III
B = O-III + 20% H-alpha (synthetic H-beta)

With this image I’m really beginning to appreciate the new capability narrowband imaging offers. It’s not the right technique for every target, but for faint, extended emission nebula it works very well under light polluted and/or moonlit skies. This is by far the best image I’ve taken of The Crescent. Prior to this, the best I could do was to capture the brightest section of the arc. To capture this level of detail and get reasonable color information is just amazing.

Really fun stuff.
